Is Multi-tasking a lie?

When it comes to prioritizing stuff it gets really hard, and prioritizing is a major era where people get stuck or by which people get stuck. So, what we do to avoid prioritizing is that we do all the stuff at the same time, which we call multitasking. So, here’s the deal, there is no such thing as multitasking, you can never focus on more than one thing at the same time. As it is said that, “If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one”. This isn’t only a proverb but it’s a fact. Multitasking is a lie and yet everyone think of it as an effective thing to do. As steve uzzell said, “multi-tasking is merely the oppurtunity to screw-up more than one thing at a time”, and that’s exactly what happens.

Clifford nass proved it in 2009, he was a professor at stanford university. He and his team of researchers gave 262 students questionnaires to determine how often they multi-tasked and then they divided their test subjects into two groups of high and low multi-taskers. Everyone was thinking that the frequent multi-taskers will do better, but they were wrong. After that Nass said,”I was sure that they had some kind of secret ability, but it turns out that the multi-taskers were just a statues of irrelevancy” which proves that

Psychologists have been studying the ability of humans of doing more than one thing at a time, but the word multitasking was never used until 1960’s. In 1960’s, the word multi-tasking was used for computers for doing more than one task at a time.

Facebook’s own cryptocurrency

Libra is actually the brainchild of a non-profit association by the same name made up of 28 different organizations around the world. Onboard are financial heavyweights like Mastercard, PayPal and Visa, along with notable names like Spotify, eBay and Uber.

Libra will integrate with the social media giant’s apps including WhatsApp and Messenger in an effort to make moving money as simple as sending a text message.

Facebook alone won’t govern how Libra operates, but will do so in equal measure with all 28 members making up the Libra Association, which will be based in Switzerland. It says that bringing together partners from different industries and locations is a key in the mission to offer a decentralized digital currency, as will be the Libra Blockchain technology that serves as the framework for the ecosystem.

Facebook is launching a subsidiary company also called Calibra that handles its crypto dealings and protects users’ privacy by never mingling your Libra payments with your Facebook data so it can’t be used for ad targeting. Your real identity won’t be tied to your publicly visible transactions. But Facebook/Calibra and other founding members of the Libra Association will earn interest on the money users cash in that is held in reserve to keep the value of Libra stable.

Now Facebook wants to make Libra the evolution of PayPal . It’s hoping Libra will become simpler to set up, more ubiquitous as a payment method, more efficient with fewer fees, more accessible to the unbanked, more flexible thanks to developers and more long-lasting through decentralization.

The 28 soon-to-be founding members of the association and their industries, previously reported by The Block’s Frank Chaparro, include:

  • Payments: Mastercard, PayPal, PayU (Naspers’ fintech arm), Stripe, Visa
  • Technology and marketplaces: Booking Holdings, eBay, Facebook/Calibra, Farfetch, Lyft, Mercado Pago, Spotify AB, Uber Technologies, Inc.
  • Telecommunications: Iliad, Vodafone Group
  • Blockchain: Anchorage, Bison Trails, Coinbase, Inc., Xapo Holdings Limited
  • Venture Capital: Andreessen Horowitz, Breakthrough Initiatives, Ribbit Capital, Thrive Capital, Union Square Ventures
  • Nonprofit and multilateral organizations, and academic institutions: Creative Destruction Lab, Kiva, Mercy Corps, Women’s World Banking

A global coin

Facebook got one thing right for sure: Today’s money doesn’t work for everyone. Those of us living comfortably in developed nations likely don’t see the hardships that befall migrant workers or the unbanked abroad. Preyed on by greedy payday lenders and high-fee remittance services, targeted by muggers and left out of traditional financial services, the poor get poorer. Libra has the potential to get more money from working parents back to their families and help people retain credit even if they’re robbed of their physical possessions. That would do more to accomplish Facebook’s mission of making the world feel smaller than all the News Feed Likes combined.

If Facebook succeeds and legions of people cash in money for Libra, it and the other founding members of the Libra Association could earn big dividends on the interest. And if suddenly it becomes super quick to buy things through Facebook using Libra, businesses will boost their ad spend there. But if Libra gets hacked or proves unreliable, it could cost lots of people around the world money while souring them on cryptocurrencies. And by offering an open Libra platform, shady developers could build apps that snatch not just people’s personal info like Cambridge Analytica, but their hard-earned digital cash.

Facebook just tried to reinvent money. Next year, we’ll see if the Libra Association can pull it off. It took me 4,000 words to explain Libra, but at least now you can make up your own mind about whether to be scared of Facebook crypto.

Is being rich BAD?

“Is it bad to be rich?”, “Are rich people rude?” or “Are we going to be bad, greedy and rude when we become rich?”. These are some of the things that many of us are told by our elders, and not only elders but by our society by movies and dramas, and everything around us. Rich are always shown as show-offs, rude and corrupt. Rich people are shown as gangsters and drug dealers. But what’s the truth?

Many of them are really corrupt, greedy or rude but that doesn’t depend on them being rich or poor, It’s just how they are, whether they are rich or they are poor. Because there are many greedy, rude and selfish people who are poor people too. If you are good and willing to be good through your heart, then it doesn’t matter whether you are rich or poor.

Happy Or Rich?

The phrase That “I would rather like be happy than being rich.” is one of the phrases that i hate the most. You don’t have a choice in being happy or rich, you can be happy and rich both at the same time. There are more chances of being happy while being rich than while being poor. How could i be happy while I don’t have money to pay my bill, while i am tensed about the entertainment of my family or while i can’t have free time for my passion or for my family. And if i’m rich, why would i be unhappy if i have enough time for my hobbies and for my family, if i don’t have to think about the money for the expenses or if I can easily help anyone that I see struggling.

A Teacher’s Role

We all have been taught to respect our teachers since we were kids, but who exactly are those teachers?

The meaning of the word “Teacher” is the one who teaches, but that’s the literal meaning on the word. Whom do we call a teacher? We have now made the purpose of a teacher so limited that the purpose of a teacher has now become just to explain the things written in your textbook, to make you prepare for your exams or to teach you the things which will be asked again later in your exams. Even if you search the meaning of a teacher on google, you will see this:

What do you mean by “Especially in a school”?!! We have made teaching just a profession. It is much more than a profession.

What is really the purpose of a teacher? A teacher is the person who passes on the lessons he got from his life to the younger ones (Students), the one who guides his students for the challenges and aware the students for all the dangers. So, this definition sounds more like your parents, right? And that is exactly the reason why the teachers respect are meant to be compared with your parent’s.

The Power Of A School Teacher

As a school teacher you have a chance of developing a personality. The personality of the students in their early ages are like a dough, they will get shaped as you want them. A school teacher has a person, a person who could be shaped as the teacher wants. Why not make that person a genius? Why not save the child’s brain from being killed? Most of the children’s brain gets killed in their early ages. Their creativity is stopped and their imagination is made limited by their surroundings. There are only two people who can save the brain of the children which are their parents and the teachers. A student is with the teacher for almost half day. The teacher can develop a genius, innovative and creative student, Only if they are apprised of how to do it.

The Main Purpose Of Teaching

The main purpose of a human being is to discover the world, learn new things and experience different dangers, and at the end, pass all the information to the new generation. That is how the learning works. But to make it more efficient, the schools were formed. So, that the experienced humans could have a chance to pass on their experiences and knowledge or collect the knowledge from other experienced people and then pass it on to a larger number of young kids, and the kids can get knowledge from the experiences of a large number of people who have experienced things in different fields. This was the main idea of schools and teachers.

Now the publishers and the commercialism have misdirected the real purpose of the teachers. This could be redirected only by the teachers.

Convert Boring time into Productive time

I prefer converting my boring time into productive time instead of converting it into entertaining time.

So, what does it mean? when i am travelling, like I am in my car or in a bus, I would like to listen to a podcast instead of listening to a song. If i am getting bored somewhere like in a waiting room, I would be more likely to read an e-book than using instagram or twitter. If I am at home and I am not in a mood to work, or read a book or do anything productive I would listen to an audio-book. Look I am not productive all day and I don’t think that anyone can do these things all day, but these are some alternatives which you can do to make your time productive and “non-boring” instead of just wasting that time.

There are now many things and services which have made it easy to utilize your little gaps of free time and doing something productive, which will help you in the future. Following are some tools that you can use to be productive.

There are many places where you can get E-Books, some of the ebooks are even available on google play but the best place that I think is amazon kindle. You can simply download the kindle app, buy a book and read it with the best experience. You can’t take your books everywhere, but you can carry as many Ebooks as you want without even carrying them in your hands. E-Books also provides some other features like, it is easy to highlight things or if you do not understand a work or a term used in the book, you can just google the meaning of it. But reading e-books can sometimes be a little exhausting so you can try listening to audio-books.

Audio Book

I haven’t used much platforms for listening to audio books but i think “Audible” would be good. I use audible and it is comfortable to use. You can start using it by downloading it and it will also give you your first audio-book for free. You can listen to an audio- book while doing work, or traveling when you can not read a book or an ebook or you can just use it when you are not in a mood to read.

I have used many podcast players but I foung “Google Podcasts” the best. It can easily download podcasts or you can listen them online. It’s design is simple and amazing and it is easy to find podcasts and subscribe the channels. It is completely free of cost. You can get any type of podcast that you want. You can listen to entrepreneurial podcasts, marketing, any skill you want to learn or to know about or any other productive podcast.

Youtube Videos

There a lot of types of youtube channels providing time-wasting videos. So, here are some channels that you must subscribe.

  1. The Rich dad channel
  2. Grant Cardone
  3. Anik Singal
  4. Bright side
  5. Business Insider

These are just five of some amazing youtube channel. These aren’t top five, they all are great and these are the ones whose videos will provide you some productive time.

Tedx Talks

Ted talks are also there on youtube, but they have better experience on it’s own app “TED“. In ted talks, there are some successful people who come to stage and share their experiences and advises to inspire others.

It can actually be one of two things:

  • Something that’s new and surprising; an idea or invention that audience has never heard about.
  • A great basic idea (that audience has maybe already heard) with a compelling new argument behind it that challenges beliefs and perspectives.

In other words, an idea isn’t just a story or a list of facts. A good idea takes certain evidence or observations and draws a larger conclusion.

So that’s all for now.

Defects Of TV that we Don’t even Notice!

In this article i am going to discuss about the defects of Television that we don’t even notice. Television is harmful for us in many ways, there are many defects that we know but there are some big defects that are because of television and we don’t notice them. So let’s get started!

Biggest defect is that Television reduces our confidence as I have discussed before in my article “BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE“. Watching television effects our confidence in many different ways.

Dramas and films

The first way of television effecting our brain is by dramas and films. So, what really happens that in a film we are shown many different situations which happens to the characters in the film or drama and those characters solve that problem in a unique way or in a dramatic way or sometimes we are shown a debating conversation between characters which are ofcourse scripted but if we talk like that in real life, we would have to memorize those line and in real life your opponent’s reply can not be predicted. So, when your see those dramas our brain see those solutions and answers and saves them unconsciously for later and when any situation happens to us which is similar to the situation we saw in T.V, we act how the characters were acting and because the things in real life are not always scripted as you think they are you loose your confidence. When you see that nothing happens according to you, then you start avoiding those things.

Reality shows

Have you ever felt like when you enter a place and you think that everyone is seeing you, judging you, or observing you? That is because of the reality shows news channels and game shows. When you are seeing the person on stage and the whole audience is seeing him and observing what he is doing, then then your brain catches that situation and whenever you are in a crowded place your brain brings the expected experience of being on the eyes of the whole crowd which makes you nervous. News channels and game shows effects confidence because in news channels and game shows we are judging people which makes us think that everyone is judging us.

Television kills your self-esteem

When you watch an hour of TV, you’re exposed to about 15 minutes of commercials, whose sole purpose is to persuade you to buy stuff.

How exactly do they achieve that? Firstly, by making you feel bad about yourself. Once they do so, they sell you products and services with the promise that they’ll improve your self-esteem.

In other words, commercials are emotionally manipulating you, and most of the time you aren’t even aware of it. The result? Spending your hard-earned money purchasing products you actually don’t need and which will sooner or later leave you disappointed and sad. In addition, by constantly consuming things, you’re creating immense material waste that is messing up with our planet’s ecology.

Television makes you dumb

Another dangerously bad effect of excessively watching television is the fact it can hinder our ability to think.

Having talking heads continuously giving us quick information, opinion, analysis and criticism for just about everything, slowly leads us to stop using our own critical thinking skills. As a consequence, we can be easily misinformed and manipulated.

That’s why it’s especially important for parents and school teachers to help children and students understand the ill effects of spending too much time in front of a TV screen.

Of course, there are a few programs on TV that are educational and thought-provoking (in other words, that have a good, positive impact on our intelligence), but let’s admit it: The majority of television programs are just trash.

Indeed, we rarely find a program on TV that requires us to think. In fact, television programming is designed in such a way to match our attention spam. This perfectly explains why almost all programs are 30 to 60 minutes long. It also explains why television programs rarely dedicate the entire program to a single topic.

Therefore, not only can’t television programs provide us with any decent thought to stimulate discussion, but they present information in such a way that we can’t digest it properly. As a result, we can easily form opinions without allowing the information to first be filtered through our minds, and while we might think that we become more knowledgeable, in reality we become dumb.

The Power Of Acquiring Skills

To discuss the power of skills we should first clear the concept of skills or what are skills? because there are many misconceptions about skills. A skill is the ability to do something well, it doesn’t include talents, a skill is a work which you have learned and you could perform it with ease.

Skills could be anything from playing football to flying an airplane. Playing football well is a skill because it is a task that you know how to perform and you can perform it.

Skills have a very big effect on your self-confidence. The more skills you learn the more confident you become. The increase in your self-confidence by a single skill depends upon how much does it matters to you.

A person’s confidence increases when ever he achieve something that matters much to him, by which he feels that he is better than before. When you feel greater, your confidence level increases, that is the reason why acquiring skills is a big source of self confidence. Confidence changes your personality which means that indirectly acquiring skills also help in improving your personality and making you better than before.

If you think that you are good with three to five skills then you are probably wrong because learning is forever. You could never stop learning in your life till your death. Never stop at the amount of skills which you think is enough because as i have said before, the more skills you acquire the better you become.

You could never be a perfect person because no one can. But the thing you can do is becoming better. Never feel that you are done because there are many thing to discover and to learn. The amount of skills which is enough for you to stop learning new things is infinite. Every skill have a different role in your life. Every skill has a value that other skills could not cover. Every skill contributes in making you better than before.

What is the reason for acquiring skills? why is all of that necessary? Since the beginning of the article i have discussed many advantages of acquiring skills which are the reason why you should acquire skills.

So, let’s write all of those reasons in points

  • Source of confidence: As I have discussed before that it is a big source of confidence as it helps us feel greater and better than before.
  • Utilization of time: It is better to learn a skill than playing games or watching videos on youtube. It is better because it helps you in your life, and solves many problems in many ways(depends upon the skill).
  • It isn’t so unnecessary: Acquiring different skills isn’t as unnecessary as you think it is, many people think of it as an extra activity for free time, but i gotta tell you that it is not that useless. Learning skills is the real thing, it is much better than learning for the tests of your schools because skills are gonna pay you till the end of your life.
  • Loyalty: Skills are loyal they never leave you and always help you in your hard times.
  • Self-investment: Acquiring skills are also called self-investment which means that by learning a skill you invest on your self on making your self better. Acquiring a skill is an investment because it always pays you. It is the best type of investment.

Many of you would be thinking that if it will be very hard. It only seems hard but I can tell you that it is fun, nothing could be more exciting than acquiring a skill which you like, it is fun only if you are interested in learning the skill which you are learning. You can take an example, like for me making a website was first skill of mine and after that i loved acquiring new skills. Now I have a long list of skills that i can not memorize sometimes. But  many of those are helping me and i believe that these will help me in the future too.

Your financial lifestyle

In my previous articles i have discussed the defects of the schooling system and the jobs. So, many of you have questioned for an alternative which is the reason i am writing this article.

I have come up with three types of financial life styles, in this article i am not going to discuss the amount of money that changes your financial lifestyle but i am going to discuss the sources of money.

Average financial lifestyle

This is the most common lifestyle which most people have. In this lifestyle you go to school regularly, do homework, get average marks, play with friends, then grow up doing the same, then go to college trying to do good in exams, then do a job the whole day and do not have much time for your family or for your goals, in this lifestyle you just wait for paycheck to paycheck or work hard for a promotion which you sometimes do not get and if you get promotion then you start waiting for another promotion, this goes on and after some time, you retire.

In this lifestyle you may have noticed that there are much hard work but all of that without a big result. In this lifestyle you just get scolded by your boss, go home late, you have a lot of pressure, can’t give time to your family and can’t get free time to live your life, to travel the world or to accomplish your goals.

Self employed lifestyle

This lifestyle is much different than the average lifestyle this lifestyle includes the people like doctors or other specialists. In this lifestyle when you are in school you have to study all the time to get good grades in exams and in college you have to do the same, there is a lot of studies for that which consumes many years in studying, after your studies get completed you finally get to work. In this time you have more time to spend with your family and for accomplishing your goals than the average lifestyle.

As we saw that this lifestyle was hard in the beginning but got a little easier later but you have to be very consistent and have to be very good in memorization and should give much time to your studies.

Investor or business lifestyle

This is the lifestyle which makes you rich financially. In this lifestyle you have enough money for your needs and you could easily help anyone who is suffering financially. In this lifestyle you have the choice in your hand whether you want to have free time or to be at work all the time. In this lifestyle you are the boss of your own lifestyle. In this lifestyle it doesn’t matter if you are good in studies or not. But the real struggle in this is at the starting of your business or investments, this lifestyle does not need schooling but it requires self study you have to read books on your own, get to know all types of things which you can do, try many things and than get to the thing which you found the most interesting. It needs a lot of consistency. After that struggle there is a big prize waiting for you.

You could choose any of these, the choice is your’s!

As we have been predicting the future since many years that there will be robots to do the work of humans in the future and that the humans will extinct because of them. If you think that nothing has changed by robots till now, these all are just rumors or maybe it will happen in the next hundred to two hundred years then you are probably wrong because that time has started. As we all know that many companies have created AI (Artificial Intelligence) and many jobs has been replaced by robots in some big companies which will soon be replaced in small companies too.

It has been predicted that the robots will be advanced enough to replace the jobs of 800 million jobs, all over the world. So, if we just get moving , living and learning according to our schools, then our future is in great danger.

The purpose or the jobs which would be left for the humans are the jobs which includes high quality of brain activities, the jobs which includes designing, creativity or entrepreneurial stuff. These are the jobs which would not be replaced or at least will not be replaced till the next 100 years.

The learning of these fields are not included in your school syllabus or your normal life, so you have to get out of that normal life because this is the time to improve you creative skills or it will be too late. There is no time for procrastinating, so start working now. You could now start some courses or could start learning any skill from anywhere. You could do many things which does not consume much time, try many things and at the end, do what you feel the best for yourself.

You can start learning Trading, there are many types in trading too in which you could select one  from stocks, forex, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and many more things, or you could think for an idea of a business. Business and investing are which i think the best skills you could have for the future even if there is no automation.

What is the reason behind this automation? Are there some evil people out there who want people to suffer? The answer is of course NO.  The companies hire robots instead of the humans because there are a lot of amount of advantages of robots and no disadvantages. The robots doesn’t want salary at all so it saves the companies money, the robots work much faster and consistently without getting tired and without sleeping which provides the company the speed of work and massive production, the robots does not make mistakes and do not lie.

5 most advanced robots

DNA robots are about as close to creating nanomachines yet. DNA robots with arms and legs made of DNA can sort and deliver molecular cargo, a new study finds. Such DNA robots could be used to shuffle nanoparticles around on circuits, assemble therapeutic compounds, separate molecular components in trash for recycling, or deliver medicines where they need to go in the body.  This “robot,” made of a single strand of DNA, can autonomously “walk” around a surface, pick up certain molecules and drop them off in designated locations. This robot is a game changer especially for in the area of health and medicine. This year, researchers hope that tiny robots built entirely of DNA will help save a critically ill leukemia patient. These DNA nanobots are designed to seek out and destroy cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells unscathed. So far, they’ve only been tested in cell cultures and animal studies.

There are many scientist that believe that robots wont take us over. They believe the more possible future is that humans either merge with robots and technology or becomes robots all together. Scientist have finally begun to scratch the surface of creating terminators. Biohybrid robots are the joining of organic and inorganic materials. By combining robotics with tissue engineering, scientist’s are starting to build robots powered by living muscle tissue or cells. These devices can be stimulated electrically or with light to make the cells contract to bend their skeletons, causing the robot to swim or crawl. The resulting biobots can move around and are soft like animals. So we’re probably about about a few decades away from creating an army of T800’s.

NASA’s R5 aka Valkyrie was designed and built by the Johnson Space Center Engineering Directorate to compete in the 2013 DARPA Robotics Challenge Trials. Cameras and sensors abound on Valkyrie — in addition to a MultiSense SL camera on her head, which combines laser, 3D stereo, and video to get a sense of the environment around her, additional “hazard cameras” look ahead and behind from her torso. On each three-fingered hand, 38 sensors help maintain dexterity. Numerous small actuators control the robot’s 44 degrees of freedom, including seven-jointed arms. The brains of the robot are two Intel Core i7 computers, which combine the sensors’ input and determine the best course of action.

No list about advanced robots would ever be complete with out mentioning Hondas Asimo. Introduced way back in 2000 Asimo has improved every year it is now beginning to show its age.. This little guy has inspired current and future roboticist for nearly two decades and Honda is currently working on its big brother. The new Asimo will be a lot more bigger and a lot more durable as it is being designed as a rescue and clean up robot. The idea during the Fukushima crisis in Japan, the lack of Japanese robots that were available to help out was notable. There was some question as to why Honda didn’t just send ASIMO. Well the little guy wouldn’t have been able to handle the extremes of the environment but his big brother certainly can. The researchers report that they’ve been focused on complex tasks such as gait transitions and ladder climbing. It was nice seeing that their ASIMO-based experimental humanoid is already doing some very impressive things.

05.  ATLAS

Atlas is the latest in a line of advanced humanoid robots being developed by Boston Dynamic the creators of the WildCat.  Atlas’ control system coordinates motions of the arms, torso and legs to achieve whole-body mobile manipulation, greatly expanding its reach and work space.  Atlas’ ability to balance while performing tasks allows it to work in a large volume while occupying only a small footprint.  Atlas can now jump from elevated block to elevated block, and do a complete about-face in the air. It can leap pretty high, and also do a back flip.

On May 19, an urgent call went out to scientists around the world to turn as many telescopes as possible toward the star, to try and crack the mystery of its behavior.

“At about 4 a.m. this morning I got a phone call … that Fairborn [Observatory] in Arizona had confirmed that the star was 3 percent dimmer than it normally is,” Jason Wright, an associate professor of astronomy at Pennsylvania State University, who is managing a study of Boyajian’s star, said during a live webcast today at 2 p.m. EDT (1800 GMT). “That is enough that we are absolutely confident that this is no statistical fluke. We’ve now got it confirmed at multiple observatories, I think.”

Star KIC 8462852, or Boyajian’s star (also nicknamed “Tabby’s star,” for astronomer Tabetha Boyajian, who led the team that first detected the star’s fluctuations), has demonstrated an irregular cycle of growing dimmer and then returning to its previous brightness. These changes were first spotted in September 2015 using NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope, which was built to observe these kinds of dips in a star’s brightness, because they can be caused by a planet moving in front of the star as seen from Earth.

But the brightness changes exhibited by Boyajian don’t show the kind of regularity that is typical of a planet’s orbit around its star, and scientists can’t see how the changes could be explained by a system of planets.

Scientists have hypothesized that the changes could be due to a swarm of comets passing in front of the star, that they’re the result of strong magnetic activity, or that it’s some massive structure built by aliens. But no leading hypothesis has emerged, so scientists have been eager to capture a highly detailed picture of the light coming from the star during one of these dimming periods. This detailed view is what scientists typically call an object spectra. It can reveal, for example, the specific chemical elements that are in a gas. It can also tell scientists if an object is moving toward or away from the observer.

Whatever’s causing the star to get dimmer will leave a spectral fingerprint behind,” Wright said during the webcast, which took place in the Breakthrough Listen laboratory  at the University of California, Berkeley. “So if there is a lot of dust between us and the star … it will block more blue light than red light. If there is gas in that dust, that gas should absorb very specific wavelengths and we should be able to see that. And so, we’ve been eager to see one of these changes in one of these dips of the star so we can take some spectra.”

But the scientists couldn’t predict when the next dimming event would occur or how long it will last. (Dips detected by Kepler lasted for between two and seven days, according to Wright.) Professional-grade telescopes typically schedule observing time weeks or months in advance, so Wright and his colleagues knew their observations would have to come at the behest of colleagues who were already using the telescopes for other projects.

“We need to have a network of people around the world that are ready to jump on [and observe it],” Wright said. “Fortunately, Tabby’s star is not too faint and so there are a lot of observers and telescopes … that have graciously agreed to take some time out of their science to grab a spectrum for us.

5 Horrible effects of mobile phones

1.Teen Tendonitis (TTT):

What is the impact of mobile phones on young people’s social life? Teenagers are totally addicted to texting. Excess messaging can lead to Teen Tendonitis (TTT). It can cause pain in the hands, back and neck due to poor posture. It can also lead to impaired vision and even arthritis down the line.

2. Sleep Loss:

Most of the teens keep their cell phones nearby while sleeping to respond to texts and calls. They feel pressurized to remain reachable around the clock. It leads to sleep interruption and disruption. Teens also become irritable when they are sleep deprived. It drains your mental abilities and puts your physical health at real risk. Science has linked poor slumber with all kinds of health problems, from weight gain to a weakened immune system.

3. Accidents

Using your mobile phones while driving is very common these days but it causes much accidents and deaths. The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Nearly 390,000 injuries occur each year from accidents caused by texting while driving. 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused by texting and driving. So be careful !

4. Causes Cancer

  1. Cell phones emit radiofrequency energy (radio waves), a form of non-ionizing radiation, from their antennas. Tissues nearest to the antenna can absorb this energy.
  2. The number of cell phone users has increased rapidly. As of December 2014, there were more than 327.5 million cell phone subscribers in the United States, according to the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association. This is a nearly threefold increase from the 110 million users in 2000. Globally, the number of subscriptions is estimated by the International Telecommunications Union to be 5 billion.
  3. Over time, the number of cell phone calls per day, the length of each call, and the amount of time people use cell phones have increased. However, improvements in cell phone technology have resulted in devices that have lower power outputs than earlier models.

5. Causes Anxiety

Spending too much time on your phone may be causing you to feel stress and anxiety, experts are warning.

“The more people use their phone,” Dr. Nancy Cheever, who spearheaded research on the relationship between cellphone use and anxiety at California State University, Dominguez Hills, told ABC News, “the more anxious they are about using their phone.”

Cheever’s research suggests that phone-induced anxiety operates on a positive feedback loop, saying that phones keep us in a persistent state of anxiety and the only relief from this anxiety is to look at our phones.

5 Proofs of Aliens

In “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” a remake of the 1951 science-fiction classic, an alien named Klaatu (played by Keanu Reeves, right) visits Earth to save us humans from ourselves. The story is a work of science fiction, with the emphasis on fiction, says Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI Institute and a technical adviser on the film. For example, to be able to detect a dangerous buildup of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and come save us from global warming, an alien that could travel at light speed would have to reside no more than about 50 light-years away. “I doubt that there are any aliens that close,” Shostak says. And even if there are, “they might not care about our problems.”

With so many stars, alien life is probable

Shostak notes that there is no direct proof for any life beyond Earth, but the universe is home to a lot of stars. And as research over the past decade has shown, perhaps at least 50 percent of those stars harbor planets. Shostak estimates there are 1 trillion planets in the Milky Way alone. “Surely some of them have undergone what Earth has undergone and developed life, and eventually what we call sentient life,” he says. The argument, he notes, is simply one of probability. “If we are the only intelligent beings in the galaxy, or for that matter in the universe, then we are truly a miracle,” he says. This image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows a cluster of young stars in the Milky Way.

Water worlds abound in our solar system

Water is a key ingredient for life as we know it. And liquid water, it turns out, is fairly common in our local solar system. For example, evidence is mounting that liquid water may flow underneath the surface of Mars. Europa, a moon of Jupiter, appears to have a liquid ocean. So too might the Jovian moons Callisto and Ganymede. Saturn’s moons Titan and Enceladus, shown here, may be watery. Even Venus might have a bit of liquid water in its atmosphere. “There you already have seven other worlds that might have liquid water, just in our backyard. So that’s kind of encouraging news,” Shostak says.

Life thrives in extreme environments

Almost everywhere scientists go on Earth, they find life: the cold, dark depths of the oceans; snuggled up to piping-hot hydrothermal vents; buried under the Antarctic ice; and in South America’s parched Atacama Desert. “Life can adapt to really tough conditions and, of course, most of the universe is going to be filled with habitats that are tough,” Shostak says. For example, Mars is a harsh environment, but some of the microbes found on Earth, including the one shown here found deep in a mine, could survive beneath the surface of the Red Planet, he notes. These findings of so-called extremophiles have allowed scientists to scale back their list of requirements for extraterrestrial life. “We just say it has to have some liquid water, and maybe that’s it,” Shostak says.

E.T. might be calling from afar

Shostak and his colleagues at the SETI Institute frequently harness some of the world’s largest radio telescopes to home in on distant stars for a telltale signal of alien communications. Although their searches have raised a few alarms, the signals have been dismissed as human-caused interference, such as noise from a passing satellite. Contact remains elusive. Undaunted, the scientists keep searching. Meanwhile, a signal detected on Aug. 15, 1977, during a search with Ohio State University’s Big Ear Observatory, continues to pique interest because it has never been explained. “It was impressive enough to encourage the astronomer who found it to write ‘Wow!’ on the printout,” says Shostak. Follow-up experiments to detect it again, however, have failed. “You can say it was E.T. and then he went off the air.

Some see evidence that ‘aliens’ have visited

Somewhere around half the people in the U.S. believe that aliens have already visited us. To back their claims, witnesses have presented snapshots of flying saucers and debris from crash landings. None of the evidence, however, convinces Shostak. Nor does he buy into theories that the world’s governments are coordinated and efficient enough to collectively keep what would be the world’s biggest secret. “That’s hard for me to believe,” he says. Such doubt does little to stop the tide of tourists coming to places such as Roswell, N.M., the site of a purported UFO crash more than 60 years ago. This fake alien at a museum is a commonly photographed attraction.

strongest creature on earth

Tardigrade, also called water bear or moss piglet, any of more than 1,100 species of free-living tiny invertebrates belonging to the phylum Tardigrada. They are considered to be close relatives of arthropods (e.g., insects, crustaceans). Tardigrades are mostly about 1 mm or less in size. They live in a variety of habitats worldwide: in damp moss, on flowering plants, in sand, in fresh water, and in the sea. In adapting to this wide range of external conditions, a large number of genera and species have evolved.

Tardigrades have a well-developed head region and a short body composed of four fused segments, with each segment bearing a pair of short, stout, unjointed limbs generally terminated by several sharp claws. The animals have no known specialized organs of circulation or respiration; the tardigrade’s body cavity is filled with fluid that transports blood and oxygen (the latter of which diffuses through the animal’s integument and is stored in cells within the hemocoel). The alimentary canal traverses the body from end to end.

The most remarkable feature of the tardigrades is their ability to withstand extremely low temperatures and desiccation (extreme drying). Under unfavourable conditions, they go into a state of suspended animation called the “tun” state—in which the body drys out and appears as a lifeless ball (or tun). In this state their metabolism may decline to as little as 0.01 percent of its normal rate. Tardigrades can survive as tuns for years, or even decades, to wait out dry conditions.

In addition, specimens kept for eight days in a vacuum, transferred for three days into helium gas at room temperature, and then exposed for several hours to a temperature of −272 °C (−458 °F) came to life again when they were brought to normal room temperature. Sixty percent of specimens kept for 21 months in liquid air at a temperature of −190 °C (−310 °F) also revived. Tardigrades are easily distributed by wind and water while in the tun state.

5 people who got terrible after surgery

Here are 5 people who got terrible after surgeries.

1. Donatella Versace

Vice president of the high-fashion brand Versace, Donatella, 54, has gone through a series of surgeries since the 1990s. Among other adjustments, her most noticeable changes have been to her nose and lips, and her trademark swollen smackers have scored her a spot on nearly every list of plastic surgery faux pas over the past few years—though there’s no real published evidence that Versace herself is unhappy with the changes.

2. Jocelyn Wildenstein

The still-active New York socialite married into a wealthy art-dealing family and began experimenting with plastic surgery in 1997, shortly before the demise of her 20-year marriage. Having spent a reported $4 million on various procedures, which are speculated to include cheek implants and numerous facelifts, her dramatic changes have earned her the nickname “Bride of Wildenstein,” along with “cat woman,” due to her taut, feline-like appearance.

3. La Toya Jackson

Michael and La Toya Jackson had an openly tumultuous relationship (she withdrew her family support during Michael’s child molestation case), but it seems they had one thing in common: a love for plastic surgery—and perhaps one particular surgeon. In-common procedures include chin and cheek implants, along with the now signature Jackson family pointy nose.

4. Mickey Rourke

Hey Mickey, you’re not so fine…anymore. After his resurgence in the movie The Wrestler, fans were puzzled at the former boxer and screenwriter’s plastic surgery–riddled appearance. Suspected surgeries, according to Dr. Youn, include a facelift (signified by the scars in front of his ears), upper eye lift and a hair transplant (signified by his reappearing sideburns and wispy, continuously forward-moving hairline).

5. Sahar Tabar

ranian Instagram star Sahar Tabar did not like the taste of fame she got last week. After rumors swirled that she had 50 plastic surgery procedures to look like actress Angelina Jolie, Tabar doubled her amount of Instagram followers. While she basked in the attention for a few days, Tabar ultimately deleted here photos, changed her name and claimed her page was hacked. She didn’t want anyone to follow her who wasn’t Iranian. Her page is now private.

“Hi friends of friends who are not from Iran,” she wrote in a now-deleted message that was posted Saturday in three different languages. “I’m upset and I just want the Iranians to follow my page. People of the foreign countries don’t follow me please. I only accept Iranian requests.”

The 22-year-old further claimed her page wasn’t authentic anymore: “This page has ben hacked. Unfollow as soon as you can because this page has too [many] viruses.”

She also deleted her profile image and changed her name to Parisa Amiri

8 way to get rid of any fear

If you aren’t ready to face your fears, you probably won’t transcend them.

And there’s nothing wrong in that. Everything happens in its own time.

If you’re reading this article though, I’m pretty sure that you’re ready to take another step forward

1. Awareness

Before you can begin overcoming fear, you have to be aware that your fears are causing havoc in your life. It’s easy to get so attached to your thoughts and feelings that you think they are all that exist, which couldn’t be further from the truth. You are not your fears. You are the awareness that experiences it.

2. The Now

What are you lacking right now? When you center yourself in the now, you realize that everything is how it is. You naturally accept what is. Tapping into the now can be as simple as feeling your body and breath. My favorite book on the subject is Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

3.  Sedona Method

Another simple system to conquer fear is the Sedona method. It consists of asking a few simple questions while focusing on your fear. It’s so simple that I dismissed it several times before taking it seriously. Bad move!

4. The Work

The Work is very similar to the Sedona method in that it asks questions. The Work is one of my favorite ways of dealing with fears, anxieties, and worries. There are many methods available, so pick the one that you resonate with.

5. Hypnosis

With hypnosis, you can program the right thoughts into your mind and eliminate negative thoughts and beliefs. This doesn’t work for everyone, but it might for you. My brother uses it to consistently evoke positive change in his life. But remember, this isn’t necessarily about getting rid of your fears, but learning to relate to them in a different way.

6.  Journaling

Getting your fears down on paper is important, because trying to think them through doesn’t work. You get caught in endless loops of negativity that only lead you further down the rabbit hole, and make your life miserable.

7. Talk

No-brainer advice, but how often do we hold the negative in because we are afraid of how others might react, or because of some other reason? Talking helps, but don’t throw a pity party for yourself.

8. Life Coach

Do you have a fear of success, or a fear of failure? A good life coach can help you examine what you truly want from life, and where your fears come from. I’ve spoken to a few in my life and while it can be scary, it’s very helpful in getting clear about what you want and what’s stopping you.

5 people with real superpowers

Did you know that people with real superpowers actually exist? People who possess incredible sight, stamina, and durability. But that’s not all. Some even possess the ability to project energy, have an uncanny memory, and even employ X-ray vision! So if you’ve ever wished you could have superpowers similar to Superman, the Hulk, Wolverine, or any other awesome superhero, guess what, its possible (sort of).

1.Garry Turner, Super stretch abilities

There’s a wide array of elastic superheroes—with Mr. Fantastic being the most famous—capable of transforming their rubbery bodies into any number of shapes. The real-world equivalent of Mr. Fantastic is Garry Turner, who can stretch and manipulate his skin in a number of extremely unsettling ways because his skin doesn’t contain the right amount of collagen.

3. Al Herpin, Sleeplessness

After a few days without sleep an average human being will probably collapse, but this wasn’t the case for Al Herpin who apparently did not sleep during his ninety-four years of life. Even though the supposed cause is unknown, some scientists believe that his sleep deprivation was linked to his mother suffering a major injury a few days prior to his birth. He’s remembered even today as the “man who never slept.”

4. Liew Thow Lin, “Magnetism”

Liew Thow Lin is known as the “Magnetic Man” of Malaysia because of his incredible ability to stick metal objects to his body. After a detailed medical study, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) lecturer Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood claims that this extraordinary ability is probably associated with suction properties in his skin.

5. Tim Cridland, super heailng

Tim Cridland is known worldwide for his demonstrations that involve pushing large skewers through his body, directly through deep muscle tissue, without feeling pain, without losing any blood, and rapidly healing.

Dog with human’s face

It’s cute when animals think they’re people, hopping in front of your computer or watching the television with rapt interest. But when an animal’s face actually resembles a person’s, the effect can be pretty creepy.

Chantal Desjardin shared a photo of her dogs on Facebook, and one of her friends pointed out something she had never noticed before. Yogi, her 1-year-old Shih-poo, has an incredibly human-like face, with striking soulful eyes. One friend commented, “The one on the left looks like a man and I can’t stop staring.” In the replies, her friends freaked out, debating whether or not the image had been Photoshopped, or put through a ‘face swap’ filter. But Chantal says the pictures have “not been Photoshopped at all.”

Chantal’s “friend’s brother” uploaded the photo to Reddit, where it went viral, getting over 19,000 upvotes. In the comments, everyone agreed the dog’s bizarre, human-like features were uniquely captivating. Yogi’s not just a good boy. He’s a good man. It’s cute, but unsettling, producing an “uncanny valley” effect. (The uncanny valley concept describes our strange revulsion to things that appear almost, but not exactly like real human beings.)

“Wtf he has the most human eyes I’ve seen on a dog”

“This is the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen”

“the more i stare at the dog the more I’m seeing my own face….this is creeping me out… like looking into my soul weird”

“100% reincarnation”

“I laughed, then I got uncomfortable, now I’m rocking back and forth desperately trying to convince myself it’s just a face swap”

“It looks like Nicolas Cage dressed as an Ewok.”

alt Credit: Chantal Desjardin

Yogi’s features look especially human in the photo next to Chantal’s other dog, Darla, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu. Darla looks like she wants to play fetch, while Yogi looks like he just got back from a long day at the office. “Yogi” is an appropriate name, though, since of the definitions is “a markedly reflective or mystical person.” And another definition of ‘yogi’ is “a person who practices yoga.” I would not be surprised if that dog did yoga.

Dog human Face Credit: Chantal Desjardin

In an interview, Chantal said that although Yogi looks stoic in the photos, he’s actually a “hyper puppy” who “always wants to cuddle and play.” Many people have called the dog creepy, due to its “uncanine valley effect,” but she just sees him as cute. And now he’s famous. Maybe Yogi will become the next celebrity animal, like Lil’ Bub, a cat that was born with a multitude of a genetic anomalies and will remain kitten-sized for the rest of her life. After her photos went viral, Lil Bub appeared on TV shows, was featured in a documentary and even starred in a video game. (Not to mention all the merchandise.) Well, if Yogi gets famous, he definitely looks mature enough to handle it.

Superpowes that we actually have

There is one thing that almost everyone wishes they had. Yes, a billion dollars would qualify, but that isn’t what we’re talking about. No, we’re talking about something that can make us feel invincible…

Wouldn’t you love to be able to fly? So fast that you could travel from New York to Washington in less than 10 minutes, enjoying the wind blowing through your hair? Don’t you want to disappear somewhere and appear somewhere else whenever you want? In Harry Potter, this is known as “disapparition”, but would it ever be possible in the real world? Don’t you want to be as agile and powerful as Captain America? Who wouldn’t?

However, what if I told you that you already have plenty of superpowers?

Yes, I know that it may sound crazy, but it’s true. Although you don’t have any of the superpowers mentioned above (sadly), you do have some other rather impressive abilities.

What is a superpower? A superpower is when someone does something that is far beyond the natural capacity of one’s body and mind. All humans, under certain extreme conditions, can do things that they could never do under normal circumstances. Let’s take a quick look at some of the superpowers that we all have, so we can finally stop being so jealous of all those superheroes in the blockbuster movies every summer!

1. The ability to lift extremely heavy weights:

Normally, you wouldn’t be able to able to lift a car, but when a desperate situation calls for action, some people have been known to lift very heavy things, thanks toAdrenaline is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands in high-stress or exciting situations. Therefore, when the situation calls for it, such as when you need to save a loved one from certain death, one can heave a weight as heavy as a car, which would be impossible in any other situation.

2. The super-bite

A human’s ability to bite can be more powerful than a gorilla’s, for a given size of object. This is due to the way in which our jaw muscles are designed.

3. Self-healing of the liver

The ability of the liver to regenerate a damaged section of itself is quite remarkable. It takes roughly 2 months for the liver to do this important regenerative work on itself and grow back to its normal size. It is the only organ in the human body that has such an impressive regenerative power.

Possibilities of end of the world

Are we in danger of being erased from the universe? Here we look at the factors that could doom humanity: natural disasters, human-triggered cataclysms, willful self-destruction, and greater forces directed against us.

We’ve had a good run of it. In the 500,000 years Homo sapiens has roamed the land we’ve built cities, created complex languages, and sent robotic scouts to other planets. It’s difficult to imagine it all coming to an end. Yet 99 percent of all species that ever lived have gone extinct, including every one of our hominid ancestors. In 1983, British cosmologist Brandon Carter framed the “Doomsday argument,” a statistical way to judge when we might join them. If humans were to survive a long time and spread through the galaxy, then the total number of people who will ever live might number in the trillions. By pure odds, it’s unlikely that we would be among the very first hundredth of a percent of all those people. Or turn the argument around: How likely is it that this generation will be the one unlucky one? Something like one fifth of all the people who have ever lived are alive today. The odds of being one of the people to witness doomsday are highest when there is the largest number of witnesses around—so now is not such an improbable time.

1. Global warming

The mother of all apocalyptic fears, climate change is the biggest threat facing the planet, many scientists say. Climate change could make extreme weather more severe, increase droughts in some areas, change the distribution of animals and diseases across the globe, and cause low-lying areas of the planet to be submerged in the wake of rising sea levels. The cascade of changes could lead to political instability, severe drought, famine, ecosystem collapse and other changes that make Earth a decidedly inhospitable place to live.

2. Asteroid!

It’s the mainstay of disaster movies, but scientists are legitimately worried that a space rock could wipe out Earth. A meteor impact probably doomed the dinosaurs, and in the Tunguska event, a massive meteoroid damaged about 770 square miles (2,000 square kilometers) of the Siberian forest in 1908. Even more frightening, perhaps, is that astronomers only know about a fraction of the space rocks lurking in the solar system.

3. Nuclear war

Many scientists are still worried about the classic end-of-the-world threat: global nuclear war. Beyond North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s saber rattling and Iran’s secretive nuclear efforts, massive stockpiles of nuclear weapons around the globe could wreak destruction if they were to get into the wrong hands. Last year, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a nontechnical magazine on global security founded in 1945 by former Manhattan project physicists, moved the Doomsday Clock, at five minutes to midnight. The Doomsday Clock shows how close humanity is to destruction via nuclear or biological weapons or global climate change.

4. Robot ascension

“The Terminator” may be science fiction, but killing machines are not far from reality. The United Nations recently called for a ban on killer robots — presumably because experts worried that several countries were developing them.

Many computer scientists think the singularity, the point at which artificial intelligence overtakes human intelligence, is near. Whether those robots will be benevolent helpers or the scourge of humanity is still up for debate. But a lot can go wrong when there are hyperintelligent robots armed with lethal weapons running around.

8. Overpopulation

The fear of an overpopulated globe has been around since the 18th century, when Thomas Malthus predicted that population growth would cause mass starvation and overtax the planet. With the global population at 7 billion and counting, many conservationists think population growth is one of the key threats to the planet. Of course, not everyone agrees: Many think population growth will stabilize in the next 50 years, and that humanity will innovate its way out of the negative consequences of the overcrowding that does occur.

5 Animals going to be extinct

Every day, species around the planet are going extinct. And for each species that goes extinct, many more become and remain endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and climate change.

Here are 5 species at risk of extinction, including some that you probably didn’t even know existed:

Ili pika (Ochontana iliensis) is a small mammal (only 7-8 inches long) that’s native to the Tianshan mountain range of the remote Xinjiang region of China. Living on sloping bare rock faces and feeding on grasses at high elevations, this little creature is very rare — there are less than 1,000 left.

The species was only discovered in 1983, but its numbers have declined by almost 70% since then, reports CNN. This is because the mammal’s habitat is being affected by climate change. Rising temperatures have forced the pikas to retreat up into the mountain tops. In addition, grazing pressure from livestock and air pollution have likely contributed to their decline.

2. Amur Leopard

The solitary Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is one of the world’s most endangered wild cats. It has a thick y

ellow or rusty orange coat with long dense hair, and can weigh up to 120 pounds. It can leap more than 19 feet, and it can run at speeds up to 37 miles per hour.

It’s now found only in the Amur River basin of eastern Russia, having already gone extinct from China and the Korean Peninsula.

3. Sumatran Rhinoceros

As the only Asian rhino with two horns, the Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) is the smallest of the rhino family, living in isolated pockets of dense mountain forests in Malaysia, Indonesia and possibly Myanmar (Burma). They are recognizable because they are covered in long hair, which helps keep mud caked to their body to cool them and protect them from insects.

4. White-rumped vulture

One of three critically endangered species of vulture, the white-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis) has suffered what the IUCN classifies as a “catastrophic decline” across the Indian subcontinent, to the point that it is highly threatened with extinction. Over 99% of its population has been wiped out since the 1980s, making it the fastest decline of any bird species in recorded history, according to Mother Nature Network.

Found in forests and grasslands, pangolins are solitary, nocturnal creatures with scales covering their bodies and long sticky tongues to slurp up ants and termites. They are about the size of a house cat, and look a little bit like artichokes on legs. When frightened, they defend themselves by rolling up into a ball.

These critters, found in Asia and Africa, are endangered because they are increasingly the victims of wildlife crime for their meat and scales. In fact, according to CNN, they are believed to be the most trafficked mammal in the world. It is estimated that 100,000 are captured every year.

Idea of Humanoid Robots

A humanoid robot is a robot with its body shape built to resemble the human body. The design may be for functional purposes, such as interacting with human tools and environments, for experimental purposes, such as the study of al locomotion, or for other purposes. In general, humanoid robots have a torso, a head, two arms, and two legs, though some forms of humanoid robots may model only part of the body, for example, from the waist up. Some humanoid robots also have heads designed to replicate human facial features such as eyes and mouths. Androids are humanoid robots built to aesthetically resemble humans.

Humanoid robots are now used as research tools in several scientific areas.

Researchers study the human body structure and behavior (biomechanics) to build humanoid robots. On the other side, the attempt to simulate the human body leads to a better understanding of it. Human cognition is a field of study which is focused on how humans learn from sensory information in order to acquire perceptual and motor skills. This knowledge is used to develop computational models of human behavior and it has been improving over time.

It has been suggested that very advanced robotics will facilitate the enhancement of ordinary humans.

Although the initial aim of humanoid research was to build better orthosis and prosthesis for human beings, knowledge has been transferred between both disciplines. A few examples are powered leg prosthesis for neuromuscularly impaired, ankle-foot orthosis, biological realistic leg prosthesis and forearm prosthesis.

Besides the research, humanoid robots are being developed to perform human tasks like personal assistance, through which they should be able to assist the sick and elderly, and dirty or dangerous jobs. Humanoids are also suitable for some procedurally-based vocations, such as reception-desk administrators and automotive manufacturing line workers. In essence, since they can use tools and operate equipment and vehicles designed for the human form, humanoids could theoretically perform any task a human being can, so long as they have the proper software. However, the complexity of doing so is immense.

Stefen Hawking the great

Many great people in the world have passed. But one of those genius people was Stefen Hawking. Stefen Hawking was a  theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. His scientific works included a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He was a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.Hawking was an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. In 2002, Hawking was ranked number 25 in the BBC’s poll of the 100 Greatest Britons. He was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge between 1979 and 2009 and achieved commercial success with works of popular science in which he discusses his own theories and cosmology in general. His book, A Brief History of Time, appeared on the British Sunday Times best-seller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks. . At the age of 22 he had a rare early-onset slow-progressing form of motor neurone disease (also known asamyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Lou Gehrig’s disease) which later paralyzed him over the decades. Even after the loss of his speech, he was still able to communicate through a speech-generating device, initially through use of a hand-held switch, and eventually by using a single cheek muscle. If you shriek in fear at the sight of the tiniest of spiders, you may want to avoid the rainforests of Suriname,Guyana, northern Brazil and southern Venezuela, where the Goliath birdeater dwells! Listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s biggest spider, the terrifying-looking arachnid weighs a hefty six ounces, (almost the same weight as a newborn puppy), and has a leg span that extends out 11-inches (the size of a child’s forearm).

The giant terrestrial creatures that belong to the Tarantula family, live inside deep burrows in marshy or swampy areas are nocturnal and take between 3 to 6 years to mature. Though the males die soon after, females can live for up to 25 years.

And while they are known as “birdeaters”, the arachnids feed largely on earthworms, frogs and any other insects they come across. But according to Piotr Naskrecki, entomologist and photographer at Harvard University’s Museum of Comparative Zoology, it is not because they are are unable to kill birds, but only because the spiders rarely encounter them on the ground when they come out to feed at night. According to the expert, the spiders have been known to kill chicks and even puncture eggs and drink the contents, if they stumble upon a nest.

Clearly, this spider is no gentle giant, but a vicious creepy-crawly. According to Naskrecki who has encountered them three times, it makes a distinct clicking sound as it stomps around looking for prey amongst the leaf litter in the darkness of the night

Goliath Birdeaters defend themselves from predators in one of three ways. It begins by making hissing sounds similar to the sound of Velcro being pulled apart. If that does not scare them away, the spider releases clouds of tiny barbed hairs that pierce the eyes and mucous membrane of the enemy causing extreme pain and itching for many days. For those that refuse to budge, the fearsome creature pulls out its last line of defense – two-inch long fangs that are strong enough to pierce a mouse’s skull. What’s worse is that the fearsome creatures are difficult to maim or kill thanks to their ability to regenerate damaged or lost limbs, throughout their lives.
